Same Day Dentures

Often times when an adult needs to have teeth extracted, they have to go without teeth for weeks or even months on end while the extraction sites heal. Of course, Dr. Richard Steinfeld and his dental team here in our Lake Worth, FL, office understand that patients want to be able to get a full set of teeth back right away so that they can feel comfortable with everyday tasks such as chewing and speaking. This is why we offer same-day dentures to our patients.

More about Same-Day Dentures

Also referred to as immediate dentures, these oral prosthetics are placed by our dentist the same day as your tooth extraction. Now we don’t have to wait until the gums have fully healed before placing your false teeth. We can place either full or partial dentures, depending on the significance of your tooth loss.

As you might be able to figure out, immediate dentures offer some pretty great advantages for the wearer. First and foremost, you’ll get a new set of teeth right away so you won’t have to wait or come in for additional fittings to get your new oral appliance. We can place them right after your extraction. This also means that you will walk out of our office feeling more confident in knowing that you don’t have any gaps in your smile, but only a full set of teeth.

Another advantage is that you won’t have to spend any time without teeth. When same-day dentures are placed immediately after your tooth extraction, it can actually serve as a protective barrier or bandage to protect the tissue and allow time to heal. Also, since speech is often affected by tooth loss, not having to go without a full smile means that you can get used to speaking with your new set of teeth early on when it’s easier to get acclimated. The same applies to chewing and enjoying your favorite foods. Remember, getting comfortable with your new set of dentures will take time, but the more often you wear it, the easier it will be.
