Snoring Prevention Device
It is estimated that more than 90 million people in North America, snore while sleeping.
Recent studies have shown that the struggle for breath can result in soaring blood pressure, which can damage the walls of the carotid arteries and increase the risk of stroke. Fortunately, we can now treat this condition in our office.
Causes of snoring:
During sleep, the jaw muscles and soft tissue in the mouth relax, making the airway smaller. This narrowing of the breath canal causes the airflow to become more forceful, therefore the vibration of the tissue increases and the snoring becomes louder.
How can we help:
After an examination and some simple tests, we will create a customized prosthetic removable appliance. This piece is designed to be used during sleep and it works by accommodating the jaw and moving it slightly forward, producing a wider airway, therefore the airflow will circulate easily and the vibration that produces the noise will stop.
We do Zoom Bleaching, as seen on Extreme Makeover.
In-office bleaching is completed in approximately an hour.
